Gender Differences and Deception

I recently participated in an interview with Dr. Kingsley Stewart from the radio program "Up Front" on Newstalk 93 FM in Kingston, Jamaica. The topic for the week was deception, with some of the focus directed on gender differences when it comes to deception. I would like to continue this discussion and ask two things;

1) Do you think men or women are better at being deceptive?

2) Do you think men or women are better at detecting deception?

"The Book Shelf"

It has been said that you will be the same person you are today 5 years from now, except for the people you associate with and the books you read. Lets use this section to share with others what books influenced YOU the most, thereby providing a reading list for everyone to view. We can then review the list and see which books appear to be the best investment of our time and money, and remember, as Benjamin Franklin said, "An investment in knowledge always pays the best interest."

Cases: Assistance/Success with statement analysis

Feel free to post written statements from cases where you would like assistance in an analysis of the language, and also, please post any statements where statement analysis was an asset in the successful conclusion of an investigation. Recording Police Interviews and Interrogations

What do you think about recording police interviews and interrogations? Legislation throughout the United States is beginning to require some law enforcement agencies to document through video and/or audio recording any custodial interviews. Several police departments have been employing this practice already, and many others are in the beginning stages of developing such programs. What is your experience and opinion with recording interviews and interrogations?
