"The Book Shelf"
It has been said that you will be the same person you are today 5 years from now, except for the people you associate with and the books you read. Lets use this section to share with others what books influenced YOU the most, thereby providing a reading list for everyone to view. We can then review the list and see which books appear to be the best investment of our time and money, and remember, as Benjamin Franklin said, "An investment in knowledge always pays the best interest."

To start, one of the most comprehensive text books within the field of interview and interrogation is "Criminal Interrogations and Confessions" by Inbau, Reid, Buckley and Jayne. There are over 600 pages covering from the basic skills of an effective interviewer, structuring and planning for the interview, understanding behavior analysis, developing interrogation strategies and understanding false confessions, to name a few.
Regarding statement analysis, I highly recommend "Identifying Lies in Disguise" by Wendell Rudacille. This book will provide you with a greater understanding and appreciation for the value of language during interviews and interrogations.
Lastly, for motivation and inspiration I suggest "The Fred Factor" by Mark Sandborn. Although unrelated to I&I or statement analysis, this short book is an easy read and a reminder to live life with passion, focus on people and relationships, go the extra mile and do more than is expected. It is an inspirational little book :-)
Thanks for listing my book, Identifying Lies In Disguise on your recommended list. I have a new web-site up (as of 01/16/07) and running which lists updated information on the book and other training items. Thanks. Wendell C. Rudacille
Oh yes, the web-site is www.idlies.com
Hi Wendell,
Your book is very informative and it is a great resource for everyone who is serious about investigative interviewing. I promote it to my students everytime I conduct a seminar, and with your new website it will be easier for people to get a copy. I also added your website to the list of "informative links" on my newsletter, Truthfully Speaking, which can be accessed from the newsletter link at www.truthsleuth.com
I also appreciate you checking out my website and Blog.
Keep in touch,
Wes Clark
